i'd give him a bath everyday ... it's alot easier to help a smaller ig get over any fear of water they may have WHILE they're still small ... and baths are GREAT for helping prevent shedding problems ...

how do baths "potty-train" an ig???
most igs like to *go* in water ~ especially warm water cuz it relaxes the muscles + encourages them to let go + poop ...
even when iZ was still pretty afraid of the tub, if he hadn't pooped yet that day, the warm relaxed his muscles + he'd poop ... then he'd get out and get cuddled in a nice towel and praised + praised and then get his dinner and roaming around time ...
pretty soon he figured out that if he pooped, he could get out of the tub right away ...
after a while, he figured out that being in that nice warm water wasn't such a BAD thing after all and he'd stay and soak for a while and THEN poop when he was ready to get out ...

igs tend to be "creatures of habit" + like routine ... they like/appreciate food/light/bathroom/etc at the same time everyday and in the same place everyday ...

most igs also don't like messing up their enclosure/room ~ (ok, 'cept for the occasional "poop-painting" rampage!) ... *most* igs will tend to *go* in the same spot ~ especially once they are big/old enough to only go once a day ...

i betcha if you start giving Boris a warm bath everyday and then also leave his "tub" in the same place with just a *little* water in it the rest of the time, he will figure out that it's a pretty good place to go the the bathroom ... the water won't be *too* awfully chilly if "his room" is warm enough ~ it won't be as comfy as a nice warm bath, but that's why he has YOU! *grin*

just make sure that the sides aren't so high that he can't Very Easily get out on his own ...

so how'd he like his 1st bath?????
Bon.
