Ian, most os us with reptiles know it is not a problem, but I bet that the fatalities where in families that did not know that may be a problem.
The dumb pet stores SHOULD make people aware that like cooking chicken, you have to use good hygene.

I don't mind banning imports, but then reptiles become the new puppy mill. Like that moran in Louisianna who doesn't know what iguanas eat and he is selling them to people to give away in fairs.
