It sounds like he has a nice setup-- take a photo and share it!
His diet needs work-- fresh veggies are a must!
Good basic diet consists of nutritious calcium rich greens like: collard, mustard, turnip, dandelion mixed with other greens like escarole, endive, watercress, a little shredded squash on top, and a bit of fruit like melon, berries, mango.
You can mix and match these and don't have to have them all at once...variety is the key. I add green beans or snow peas or other veggies from time to time.
