:::"Will my iguana be able to live comfortably in this setup his whole life even when hes 5-6 feet?"

Everything in your set up sounds pretty good, everything, that is, EXCEPT the diet.

I would get rid of the "iguana pellets" and replace them with fresh food as soon as you can. The iguana pellets are just another way for the pet industry to get money from you, and they are in NO WAY as good as fresh food for your iguana.

I can tell by all of your effort to make your iguana comfortable in your bathroom that you really do care about your iguana. That's why I'm hoping you'll stick around on this forum for a while and learn about a better diet you can start feeding your iguana. We are all here to help you out, by giving suggestions, personal experience stories and ideas. Your ig will thank you for changing it's diet. I can not stress how important feeding an iguana the right foods is.

Here is a quick list of what I feed my iguanas--most of the items, they get on a daily basis, but some of them are occasional items I feed when I happen to have them on hand.

Collard greens--every day, three times a day! They LOVE these! (Ask for them in your produce department. Most grocery stores carry them, or will start to if you request them.)

Mustard greens--every day

Dandelion greens (I can only find these at health-food stores, but they are really good for iguanas so use them if you can find them.)

Orange fleshed squashes: acorn squash, spagetti squash, butternut squash etc. (all of these hard squash should be peeled. It is also a good idea to shred them with a cheese grater if your iguana is small.

Fresh green beans, snipped and cut up in small pieces.

Parsnip, cut and peeled.

Snow peas in or out of the pod

Green Bell Peppers, as well as red peppers (not hot peppers, but the sweeter kind) and yellow, too.

okra

zucchini

cucumbers are a good way to add moisture to your iguanas diet. They are low on actual nutrients, but igs love them and they can be fed sometimes to boost hydration.

yellow (also called Crook necked) squash. Since this is soft, you can leave the peelings on it and just cut it up into small pieces. Igs love it.

Fruit:

Melon (great for boosting moisture in the diet)
blueberries (iguanas LOVE them)
grapes (only occasionally)
bananas(sparingly-they are loaded with phosporous)
raspberries
strawberries
pears (in moderation)
figs--these are great for igs because of their high calcium content

a bit of whole wheat bread on occasion (one of my igs LOVES bread, but the other one won't touch it.)
Noodles or pasta (when you're having pasta for dinner, it's fine to give a piece or two to your ig, but don't overdo it.)

Never, ever, any animal protein--this includes eggs, milk, butter, meat of any kind, and no insects (despite what the pet store may tell you about feeding iguanas crickets. It's not good.)

There are a ton of iguana diets out there you can refer to for additional items that are okay to feed your iguana. These are just the main ones I feed to my own. Search around in the Internet and see what you can find. You'll be amazed at the information that's out there.

Hope to see more of you on this forum! And good luck with your ig. By the way, what's his/her name?

Diana~ (My iguanas names are Habib and Bobbit--a female and a male, both three years old, and both are a handfull!)
