Cop Shop: Hero fireman scales tree to save scaly critter
Your pet iguana is stuck in a tree. Who you gonna call? The Bethel Fire Department, of course. Last week, Rex, the Skelly family pet, went AWOL. He was found chilling atop a huge tree near their Bethel Road home. Bethel Officer Brian Rowe and Fire Chief Jerry Davis decided the job of retrieving the 3½-foot reptile would best be left to Assistant Chief Bret Small.
Seemingly without effort, we're told, Small scaled the 40-foot tree, cut down a large branch and grabbed the 2-year-old reptile. Rex wrapped his "arms" around the firefighter, who carried him down the tree to safety
