: I've had a similis for 3 years and she's wonderful. First give her some time to settle in. They are nervous lizards and she may need more time to feel comfortable. I'd suggest a hide box if she doesn't have one. If she's a juvie try some crix or waxworms. Also offer greens and MK daily. Mine as an adult now eats salads daily and I offer her animal protein only once a week and a mouse pink about once every 3 months, but as a youngster she liked her crix.
It is a mexican spiny tailed. I forget the latin name at present.
She is a very low traffic area and does have a hide box, well pot in this case.
I think she may be eating some of the salad today but
as you say they are shy. I rarely see her out.
If I do she freezes. When I handle her she stays still.
Then will try to bolt if the conditions are right.
I am pretty sure she is under a year old but how old
I don't know. Petco had her and we wanted to rescue her.
She was freezing there as the lighting and basking were
abysmal. My experience with greens had taught me that.
Any other advice would be great.
