Well...if the cut is as deep as you say, then you won't get many responses other than "time to go to the vet"...but, if the cut is not too deep, then a little Neosporin antibacterial cream may seal and help heal the wound. Hope the little bugger is ok!

Hey guys I need your opinion. When I was about to give Hoss his bath just a little bit ago I noticed a open wound on the underside of his tail about 3" down the base of it, closest to his hind legs. It had a little dried blood on it.. Now I am worried!! It's not hanging on by skin, but the cut or laceration is pretty deep. It's like a straight cut on the underside. Damn, this tail isn't gonna fall off is it??? Please tell me no!! What can I do for it. I didn't notice it until now. How would that have happened and is it possible that he was going to drop it off?? I mean I've never purposely grabbed him by the tail, but there has been times when he's wiggled loose and I just tried to grab his body but got his tail for a quick sec. Well let me know I am really worried about him!
