I will use myself as an example here :o). First YES I fully thing something needs done to help ALL suffering animals how or what I do not know I have ideas but can see the draw backs to my ideas as well.

Onto what I disagree with,
As for a 200 price I could NEVER afford to pay that price for an iggy, If/when the time comes I will hand over what ever the cost needed for vet expensise. On the cost of an iggy foods not really that expensive I can feed Double d for about 2 weeks on at most 15.00, As for enclosure I am ging to build her a huge one in our new house piece by piece as money affords. So if iggy prices were 200.00 I would never have this cute little girl in my life, that goes for all my animals YES I might not be able to pay a High purchase/adoption fee but I sure as heck can balance and budget to give them the best life possible as each week, month, year goes by. As for adoption Im not adoptable material LOL. I live in a 2 bdrm trailer. I have three young children 6,4,2 years old. Two dogs a German shepard mix 6 yrs old gotten as he was headed to the pound for free, Shadow a pom I did pay 200 for him but that took almost a year to save up to get him. Gizmo our guniea pig was a 20.00 purchase, and Fluffy our bunny was 5.00. So with my critter crew, my human kids, my living space NO ONE would adopt to me, but im giving double D a great wonderful life long place to grow be cared for and loved for ever. SO not everyone who would provide a truly wonderful live could/would pay that price for an iggy :o). Just my 2 cents if it helps any.

: Yes less people will buy iggys~ that is the point~ less will buy and then less will be ordered from the supplier~~So demand will be down~ ~ Actually beardies are alot easier to keep and they are usually over 50 bucks~~ Most desert reptiles are not so hard to keep~ Its easy to make a desert habitiat~~ rainforest is quite a bit harder~~Plus they are harder to feed~ I would rather see all reptiles expensive~~ as its not cheap to keep them so if you can't afford a high price you obviously can't afford to take them to the vet and buy them everything they need. I doubt that pet stores would throw them out!~ Especially if they can make money~(none of the pet stores around here anyway) Actually the more i think about it if iguana's were much more expensive people would be more likely to adopt than to buy~~ But it wouldn't stop some poeple from paying to have them~~ Heck i just spent 200 dollars on an egyptian Uro~~ He was hand raised and is the sweetest lizard ever. The fact is about 98% of those baby igs you are talking about will go to bad homes and either end up dead or in need of adoption~~ If less are being bought that would be great~~ Its hard to say what would be best for the igs though~~ Tif
