In Reply to: Iguana pillow question?? posted by Brian on August 31, 2001 at 14:09:26:
::: How do you know if an iguana would like to use a pillow. Is there a way to tell if they would like one?
Well, I've made about 25 iguana pillows now, and have never heard of an iguana who didn't eventually come to love having one. Of course, there is always a chance that any particular ig may not like to use one, but I really don't see why he/she wouldn't.
I made Habib her first pillow and blankie when she was a baby. She was about the size your igs are now. Heck, I even MONOGRAMED a little green plaid iguana quilt and pillow for her! (spoiled ig, she is). So, since she liked hers when she was still a tiny baby and she still loves it today, I'm guessing your babies would enjoy them.
The whole reason I ever made an ig pillow in the first place was because I read someone's website which said their iguana liked to sleep in an old sock they put in her cage. I thought it sounded funny, but thought that maybe *my* iguanas would also like something soft to sleep on so I sewed up a little pillow and Habib loved it! Since that time, I've rescued another ig, a male named Bobbit who also LOVES his pillows. (I've made them several matching sets now.)
You could try putting something soft in the cage and see if your igs eventually start sleeping on it. If they did, you'd know they would like a cute pillow all their own. If they don't, you'll know that you don't need to get one!
Good luck,
Diana
