Nine inches is normal for a hatchling. How old is this iguana and when did you get it?
I may have one reason to suspect why it's so small. Carrots are okay, but cucumbers, lettuce, and cabbage are a big no-no. Here's a small list of vegetation/fruit that you should be feeding to your iguana:
Mustard greens, collard greens, celery, winter squash, yellow squash, green pepper, grapes, apple, okra, green beans.
This is only a SMALL example of what should be fed to your iguana. You don't have to feed him everything on the list, but try to give him atleast 6 or more vegetables/fruit at once. For complete information on proper care for an iguana, I suggest you check out this site:
