adams Vet Update...

Hey everyone.. I thought I'd give you the update on adam. He went to the vet today. First off, good news, He was a very good boy in the vet...and he's not impacted..now the bad news.. He is severly dehydrated (i dont know how, ive been giving him pedialyte) The vet gave him a shot directly into his stomach of fluids) and he said he's suffering from lack of nutrition from a very poor diet. (he instructed me to feed him blended foods with a syringe and to mix in some calcium and multi vite and feed him that way until he starts to eat on his own.) He has an infection in his mouth (possibly the cause of him not wanting to eat.) and also on his hand and stomach. So I have to give him shots every day and put a topical cream on his hand and stomach. His finger is gonna stay sideways permanantly because it was broken and healed like that, but it is healed. He said his reflexes are really slow and could possibly be neurological damage from improper care all these years. He said his condition will improve as long as i keep giving his medicine and feeding him with a syringe for now. But he said he will probrally never be 100% but he can still live a happy life.... All in all, I think he's gonna be alright.. he's got lots of love and a good home now so hopefully he'll be feeling better in a few days when the medicine kicks in..
