The thinnesss is (it think) in part due to the roomate Darwin had for about 6 months, who was more dominant. As soon as it was noticed they were separated. Darwin is a male, about 4 feet long including tail, I have no idea how old he his. I've known him for about 2 1/2 years, and he came from the animal shelter. His conditions are about 30C at night and 36C during the day, with Repti-glow lights for UV. He was in a basement in a temp-controlled room, but now I brought him to my house yesterday to give him some real sun and hopefully figure out what's wrong. He eats mostly greens, with some fruit, and commercial iguana food on top-dandelion, Kale, collards, escarole, endive, cilantro, swiss chard, beet greens, carrot tops, parsley, squashes, apple, kiwi, brocolli(a little), peach, pear, nectarine, strawberries, blueberries(whatever is in season or found frozen for the fruit), green beans, snow peas, red peppers, tofu(a bit), sprouts(a bit)...I think mostly high Calcium stuff, and light on the calcium binders. No grapes, bananas, or high Phosphorus stuff. I know in turtles, swollen eyes can be from Vit A deficiency, but does this apply to iguanas? Is it just the lack of natural light? Should I worry about parasites as well? He has an amazing appetite, but doesn't seem to be gaining weight any more.
Thanks for any help of advice you can give, and if there is more you need to know, ask away.
