: We used my boyfriend's business website as the host, not geocities or photopoint...so I still don't know what the problem is. I wonder why I could get that first pic posted but none of the others. I do appreciate the tips/pointers. I'll try again.
first, you need to upload the images to your own
webspace. as i understand it, you can no longer access
images that are uploaded to geocities, so you'll have
to use another hosting service.
the easiest way to post multiple pics is to just do
image references. you do this by using what's called
an HTML tag. the tag you want to use is:
~img src="http://your.web_address.here/filename.jpg
(or *.gif)"~
replace the tildas with the < & > signs, and remember
to put the quotation marks on either end of the web
address for the image you're posting. simply repeat
the process for each photo you want to put in the
post. You can type in between. I ahve found that it works better for me if I preview my post between each picture, then edit post & add new pic
remember to try to keep the photos fairly small
memory-wise, or it'll a long time to open your post,
as all the images will be loading when your post is
read.
if you want to get really fancy, you could use
thumbnails of your photos in the post (use a graphics
program to shrink the photos and save them under a
different name from the original (eg. the thumbnail of
pic1.jpg would be pic1T.jpg). upload both the
full-size photos and the thumbnails to your webspace.
then what you'll do is use an anchor tag to make a
link to your photo. anchor tags have three parts-1)the
anchor, telling the html script where to go if- 2)the
link text/image is clicked on, and finally- 3) the end
anchor tag. you use an anchor tag like this (we'll use
the pic1.jpg example again here:
~a href="http://your.web_address.here/pic1.jpg(or
*.gif)"~ ~img
src="http://your.web_address.here/pic1T.jpg (or
*.gif)"~ ~/a~
once again replacing the tilda with the < & > symbols
beginning and end of each tag. notice that the 'a
href' points to the full size pic, and the image we're
using as the physical link is the thumbnail,
pic1T.jpg.
thumbnails are nice because they're much quicker to
load, and a viewer can pick and choose what photos
he/she would like to view at full size.
