: I just read your original question about the mites. Those little bugs appeared in Freddy's aquarium once, and I didnt even know mites existed. They fit your description perfectly. They came in the food. I used to mix a little bit of the commercial stuff with his salad every day, and these little bastards were living in the bottle of food. It was pretty gross. They are soooo small that you have to stare into a section of the tank to find them, right? Anyway, I think Mathew T and I have the same bug in common, and its nothing to worry about once you disinfect. Anyway, I could be wrong, but before you soak that poor animal in chemicals, look at some of the pics of mits online, and you'll see they dont look like those little reddish brown things. I even bet they were near the place where you keep the food. Thats where mine were.
