here's an update on the zoo. It's been a fairly good summer as far as adoptions go. Since April I've adopted out 6 adults, 4 subadults and a juvie. All are doing well, settled into their new homes. Even so, I'm still caring for 11 GGI's right now. All are healthy and doing well but for one..poor dear Annie who suddenly went off all food. She's had 3 exams, xrays, blood work, the whole shebang. Nothing conclusive. The doc thought he could feel developing ova and the lower third of each lung looks grainy in the pictures...but not indicative of pneumonia. She has no respiratory symptoms, just the loss of all appetite. She's on injectible anti's and I'm waiting to see some improvement. Her overall appearance and energy level pretty much normal. Any ideas or input??
My Cyclura population is at #5 now... Rhinos Bubbles and Scrub, Cubans Doonie and Bolivar, and Hybrid Azul. These lizards are totally awesome and so blasted smart!! I looked for a female Hybrid in Daytona Beach at the Breeder's Expo but struck out. I did get a couple of good leads tho to follow up on. The other lizards that have me completely captivated are the Tegus. I purchased a gorgeous Blue Tegu male in Daytona and have the two Argentine B/W's that I got in Tampa last March. I also have acquired a Red female that is missing most of her front toes and a good portion of her tail. Tegus are smart, curious and constantly on the move! Very charming and entertaining.
My daughter's snake population is ever increasing but I won't get into that. She also has 2 Prairie Dogs which are wonderful pets and her bf keeps his 4 Hedgehogs here.
If anyone has been following the year long saga of my dear sweet boy Kermit he is doing really well. He's in his first season right now and he stalks every female iguana here that's at least 3 times his size!! His face is still very disfigured but is complete healed. His broken arm healed like a charm too! He's still my sweet sweet boy. His nickname around here is Phantom of the Opera Lizard! LOL
Enuff for now. The forum has been interesting lately...lots of new names and lizards. This is still the greatest group of peeps at Kingsnake!! Kerm says HI!!!
