I never keep my iguans in direct sunlight only filtered. In the wild they seldom sit in direct sunlight for any length of time, constantly adjusting their temperature. I use the largest reptarium available with a few large branches and a tropical hibiscus plant. The cage is set underneath a tree were even if a certain part of the enclosure is under direct sunlight the ig can move to a cooler spot to adjust his temperature if needed. I keep a large pan of water at the bottom at all times and I frequently spray the cage and plant down during the day. In my opinion the two major things are a place to cool down and lots of water, so dehydration will not accur. Good luck.
