Well here in Canada we don't have a lot of time during the year for natural sunlight while the temps are high enough, maybe 4 months.
So I am getting a bulb.

My reason for not having one now is like HD said the safty concern. Roxy has a screen cage currently, so I have waited. Now that we have her new wood cage built, that is enclosed with glass windows, I am getting one. The placement of it in her cage with make sure that no one walking by or near will get the rays. Although I will working inside her cage. But thats a short amount of time everyday, most of the time she comes out to work on me!

But I figure it can't hurt any worse than growing up in California never wearing sunblock for years. And if it helps Roxy great! She really doesn't get the natural sun enough living here in Canada.
