I don't really understand what you are asking Brittany. To the best of my knowledge, Zoo Med does not produce a black light!
The short of the long of it is this-
The ONLY fluorescent tube worth buying is the Zoo Med Reptisun 5.0 or their Iguana Light -these are the same exact lights, different boxes. If you use this type of UVB producing fluorescent, you need to use an additional basking light for heat. Additionally, these lights must be no farther away from the iguana than 12 inches and the bulbs need to be replaced every six months.
The ONLY non-fluorescent producing bulb on the market that I ahve found any testing on is the ActiveUV which was recently bought out by T-Rex although I believe they are still using the Active brand name. With these bulbs an additional basking light is not needed as they produce UVA, UVB and heat. These bulb need to be replaced every 12-18 months.
I've done a lot of research and home testing on UVB products and the only lights I recommend, based on both the Boston University and the Phillips Lighing studies are either the Zoo Med fluorescent tubes or the Active bulbs. I've just started putting UVB pages up on our website and you're more than welcome to take a look. I've written the pages with the intent of them being easy to follow and understand. If you still have questions feel free to drop me an email.
