get the occasional insect on the foilage they eat. As far as I'm concerned, there are too many horror stories out there of kidney problems from too much protien. Every small rescue that we've taken in has thrived just fine on a stricktly vegetarian diet. Some of the materials you've been reading may have been outdated. A lot has changed in the past 10 years as far as Green Iguana husbandry is concerned. Hope this helps. By the way, are you thinking of getting one or do you already have one?
