First of all, I agree with you about the tons of info out there...who do you believe. After doing all the web and book stuff, I came here with all that info fresh in my mind and ironed out the creases with the help of everyone on the forum who I know have first hand experience with these little guys. It doesnt seem like anybody here feeds insects to their hatchlings. They seem to cause kidney damage. Their bodies arent setup for that kind of food intake. Although I've never watched a hatchling in the wild, (Freddy is still a hatchling I guess, at 7 months) it makes sense to me that if they eat plants as adults, they probably eat them as babies.
In here we all do our homework, and when someone comes with a problem, everyone gives their 2 cents. At the end, its up to you, the owner, to make the judgement call, i guess. We are all here to help out...thats what they told me.

: I'm sure that I heard about green iguana hatchlings and young juveniles eat insects and small animals in the wild, eating only plants when they're adults. That's what it said in many books and many websites. But in some websites, it says that young green iguanas don't eat insects and small animals in the wild!! I tried to say that young iguanas eat insects in wild but nobody believes me although I've said that I've read those in many books!!! And in some books, it says that young green iguanas don't eat insects and small animals in the wild!!!! So which is correct??? Do they really eat insects and small animals when they're young in the wild????? Or do they don't????? Please answer!!!! Thanks.
