the Vicks one is fine, but the one i got was a bit too small and needed to be refilled more than once a day ... (so now it's in MY room at nite)
so consider tank size when buying ...

Holmes has a few different models and is what i've used the longest ~ during the long heating season, it runs 24/7 ~ took me 2 yrs to kill the 2st one! :)
it's worth it to get one that's adjustable ... high/low and very humid/not-so-much ...

the one that i am the MOST thrilled with is one by Tatung ... not sure how it compares cost-wise ~ got it brand-new at a yard sale for $10 ... the 1st nite we ran it, we turned it on a medium setting and when i opened the door to iZ's room the next morning literally all i could see was white fog ... don't know what it's life expectancy is yet tho ... :)
