First dose was appz. .5cc’s. Second 2 are only .2cc each. Not sure whether she’ll actually get them tough. Have since found out this particular a/b is to be avoided in cases of reneal disease, which allot of signs point too. We’ll know more about that when the bloodwork comes back Tuesday (see post above).

And yes there are a few critters at my house. I'm owned by 4 Igs, a BD, 2 Leo's, and a Veiled Chameleon (not to mention the parrots, cause that's a whole other story). As far as experience though. . . I've had some, but (luckily) it's mostly been w/healthy adult herps. I got all 4 Ig’s as rehab adults. All but the little boy are sweet as sugar to me although 2 are a little skittish around strangers. The little boy is actually a sweety too, but he’s got the “crazy devil eyes” and occasionally “posture” like a bad guy.

It's been a long time since we've had to brave anything more harrowing than sweating through springtime egg laying (which I always stress over) and a tail tip amputation. My Lil’Girl went through a bout of gout after her first clutch (her first owner said dog food was her favorite food. DUH!), but after a few weeks of shots I decided to try switching her over to a homeopathic remedy that worked well. She had no symptoms in 4 years now.

The BD had MBD when I first got him. Although he will always shows skeletal signs, getting him back to a healthy state was a simple matter of high calcium whole foods, as many dusted crick’s as he could chomp down and plenty of real, unfiltered sunlight. For which I believe there’s no substitute.

One of the Leo’s has a congenital cataract I have to use drops on. . . .now, are you starting to see a trend here yet. If it’s sick, I’ll probably end up bringing it home. Did I mention the little yard gecko I found basking on my wall outside last November. It had warmed up for a day, but last winter was a hard one for us, by comparison. Anyway, since it was much too late in the season for him to be out. . . I brought him in. He’s still pretty small though. Hopefully I can release him next spring.

I better get back to work. 'Nuff for now.

: for short term a/b use tho. I don't know if your vet is giving shotgun doses of a/bs or not tho. Rebecca!!! you amaze me!! No danger WHATSOEVER in giving probiotics, iguanas are constanstly in need of replenishing for ph changes (acidic gut, poor diet, during stress, abrupt temp changes, a/bs,deworming meds, alot of things change the gut flora iggies AND people :-). Only good can come of it.
: I didn't realize you had so many iguanas and experience with them. That's terrific...we sure can use a helping hand here! I like to read the diverse opinions when someone/I post a question. Anymore seems like I haven't had the time to sit and read as much as I had in the past...back to my old posting and running.... Glad yer with us, Im sure you can take us around the block a few times ;-)
