Mites

I was watching my friend's Iguana for about 2.5 weeks. When she got him back she noticed that she saw little red spidery things on him. I think they're mites, but I have 2 reptiles of my own and I have never seen mites on them, and I didn't see mites on her Iguana when he left. She wants to know how to get rid of them. She tried giving him a bath, but they're still there. Any advice on what should be done?
