You're getting your chain yanked in that it's not "SNOT"! Geez, what a gross word! It's consistency is more like the water from your tears. . . .and yes, normal healthy ig's certainly do it . . .and mischivous kids that they can be, will often do it to great you when you walk into their cage. Yes! I said "walk" into their cage. Like Christy, I'm wondering if you're really prepared for this animal....And a male especially.

: Hi all. I am adopting a Green Iguana from someone I know on sunday. This person says that iguanas discard salt through their nostrils. She says that the iguana will sneeze and snot will spray on the glass of the habtat. She says that the iguanas do this to get rid of extra salt in their bodies. Is that true? Is the sneezing and snot thing bad? Other than that, the 5 foot male iguana eats perfectly and defecates properly. She says she has had iguanas for the longest time and the one I'm adopting is the healthiest one she has ( or had), she can't kep iguanas anymore because she just had a son and they don't have the room or the money to keep them anymore.
: But is all tha sneezing and salt discarding thing normal or am I getting my chain yanked?
: Thanks all.
