neverending question on active UV

I have been through almost all the posts on Active UV - but there doesn't seem to be any definitive answers. The cost is not cheap ( approx. 52 to 54 dollars ) while the cost of Reptisun 5.0 is still ok ( 19 to 20 dollars ). The questions I have are:
Has anyone used the Active UV ( which by the way can be bought from the Active UV site, or, now Zoo Med has an Active UV which can be purchased from LLL Reptile ) for at least 6 months or more and what results have there been ? either negative or postive. Also: Does the products live up to it's claims in your opinion ? What is the minimum distance based on wattage of the light that your animal has safely exposed itself ? And finally, based on your experience - would you buy the product again if you had the choice ? Thanks for your answers and I apologize for bringing this constant subject up. CW
