as an animal assisted therapy pet..just cuz salmonella risks. Most programs like this are in hospices, hospitals, day cares, senior convalescent hospitals, (kids, immuno-compromised)...target population for exposure to salmonella,or other pathogens. I swear I have heard of more kids in the hospital after visiting petting zoos than I can count. Dogs, cats, rabbits etc can get a clean bill of health from a vet, vaccines, all this stuff required for animal assisted therapy. What guarantees can a vet give you about the possibility of spreading disease or germs...ABSOLUTELY NONE!!! Enjoy your baby. And remind anyone touching her to PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS after.
