They both have no movement in their hind legs. One is brown, the other browner, both can't support their own body weight. I decided I'm gonna giv'em a reprieve & see if they do get better; I'm not gonna go thru with the calcium injections & antibiotics(!?) 'cause I can't afford that crap & it's doubtful that it's doing any real good. Since when do you give an animal antibiotics when it's got a crappy diet? (antibiotics=kill gut bacteria) & the bottle says "miscellanious antibiotic" what's up with that?
I got'em from an ad at the vet's office-originally the people wanted $350 for them! I then saw the same ad with $150 then $50 on it, so I figured the tank (40 gal) might be worth around that, so I got'em. Little did I know the heartache that would ensue. It sucks! But what sucks worse is getting screwed around at the vet's, the vet telling me she never checks the net, doesn't know what to feed them, Melissa who?, spinach is ok, advising former owner to give dog food, etc. aargh!
Sorry for the rambling but thanks for the support.
Peace out Rick
: I think you know the correct answer in your heart. I also think you will find the support you need here.
: However, I am wondering...
: Are they *really* going to die in a year's time?
: *Is* their quality of life bad?
: If these two statements are not absolutely true, then BabyHerp has some good points.
: What a horrid situation you are in, and I wish you all the best. Obviously you are a very caring person.
