Igs see color very well, and usually prefer to sleep in darknss, just as most of us do.. I don't use a nightlight, and in my opinion, the red ones are just an irritant to the igs. Yours has obviously gotten used to it, but it is not necessary, and if nothing else, you'll save a little electricity...
