Hi Jeff,

The other posts make a good point and if yours is a young one then it may be even more valid. However, my cages are set up to encourage the Igs to bask in the area of UVB lighting and no hide spots are available. They are however in spacious cages of around 25 Sq. Ft. of floor space. They all spend 95% or more of their day on the shelves and under the lights. Hope this helped some. Iguana03
