Christy,
Your experience building an ig enclosure with your husband sounds very familiar to me. Josh and I have been dating for well over two years now, and we normally get along *wonderfully* well. However, when we were building the iguana cage in May, we were at each other's throats the whole time. We didn't communicate very well during that time; I was unhappy about some things, and he was frusterated about others. He was the builder, and I was the designer. It's normal to have conflict while doing something stressful like this.
The important thing is this: You're building a cage for Double D out of love, and she will love it!
Both Habib and Bobbit LOVE their new cage we built them. They spend several hours a day outside in it, basking in the sun.
At the time we were building it, I thought we should just give up--it was such a pain. I was covered in stain, primer, and paint. I had a sore back, sunburned arms and legs, paint all in my hair, and my fingers were rubbed raw from using so much sandpaper. But I'm here to say that the end result is worth it!
Keep it up...You'll be finished soon. I can't wait to see photos! New cages always excite me! (I know, I'm weird.)
Love,
Diana
