But go a bit deeper. Most people build their enclosures with a good height and length and then fall short on the depth.
It may take him awhile to adjust but it is the best thing to give them a chance to grow. Just make sure you have UVB lighting at the proper distance from his basking spot in order for him to get the proper levels. If you feel that he will get lost in his cage you can always block off a side or something to make it easier for him to figure out where he is going. Then open that area up at a later date.
Just remember that in another couple of years he will probably need a 6' or 8' enclosure or a room of his own! My 3.5 year old is in a 6' X 6' X 4' Deep enclosure and is quite happy with that and his daily outings out of the cage.

: Although you cant see it in the pics, Freddy is currently living in a 20 gallon tank. He's about 5 in SVL and a whopping 13 in STL. I am currently building him a new enclosure measuring :
: 5ft high X 5ft wide X 30in deep. Is he gonna freak out when he gets put in there??? Is he too small??? Or is he gonna dig it and love all the space?????
