Pets Left To Die In Cages At Monona Store
The Dane County Humane Society rescued dozens of animals from a Monona pet store Thursday.
But for some pets, it was too late.
Officials found numerous pets dead inside their cages at Acquarius Pets.
A spokesperson for the Humane Society says they've been investigating the pet store for some time, and had talked to the owner about treatment of the animals.
The store was in shambles and up for sale, News 3 reported.
Some of the animals had been dead for quite a while.
"There were quite a few snakes, there were a number of iguanas, a lot of fish, some smaller mammals like rats and hamsters," said Mary Paul Long of the Dane County Humane Society.
The owner may face charges.
