Yes, real sunlight is much better than any other light. I try and get Jade out in it every day after work for at least an hour and on weekends we spend much of our time out in the yard. He doesn't have a cage but I've never had a problem w/ letting him free roam. I watch him closly because he does move fast and can be lost easily. He'll be on one side of the yard one minute then on the other side in a flash. I love to watch him run around, his feet look like big flippers swimming thru the grass when he runs...hehehe. Jade also becomes much more darker green when outside and is 100 times more active. He'll get more exercise in an hour outside than he does in an entire day inside. I'm dreading the cooler weather when he can no longer go out but plan to get an Active UV bulb before then. Have fun watching your ig outside...I'm sure it will be much more entertaining than watching him inside.:)
