I tend to agree with Iz's mom about the insecure part. Extending the dewlap can be one of the first signs to aggression, but if on of the other signs follow, it probably just means the ig is cautios and is looking for anything unusual around it.
How long have you had your ig?? If you have had it for a while, and it is still running around like crazy when you pick it up, let me know. Sampson did the same thing for a long time until I did something that made a difference within a day or two.
