Hi Luke. I have extensive knowledge working with liquid D3 and I will do my best to answer your questions.
Liquid D3, like Solar Drops, are not a replacement for UV exposure despite what the bottle claims. Infact, the liquid D3 doesn't work on every iguana. When it is used under the circumstances I will talk about below, a UV light still must be used. The drops do not reduce the amount of timer per day that an iguana needs UV exposure.
The liquid D3 CAN and WILL kill your iguana if not dosed properly and for that reason we don not suggest its use unless you have a very sick iguana and are under the guidence of a vet. In the case of an iguana suffering from MDB, the drops can sometimes accelerate the process of enableing the iguana to "heal".
I would strongly advise against the use of these drops on a regular basis. Even with a sick iguana we use them for no more than a six week period.
