personally, i think the safest way to go is to use fake plants ~ the ones made of cloth, not plastic ...
a live plant isn't going to last in an ig's enclosure very long ~ it's gonna get ripped to shreads most likely from being climbed on and munched on ... and since you can't be 100% SURE it's safe, leave it out ... it's just easier that way to my way of thinking ... :)
i use those 'silk' vines and plants all over iZ's room and we both love 'em ... they're fairly inexpensive, lots easier to care for than live plants and don't run the risk of having bugs ... they do still get torn to bits after a while from iZ climbing over them, but are cheap/easy enough to replace that it's not a problem ...
