I know this is so difficult of a time right now. Just know that you at least cared, that you gave Rocko a good life when he was with you. Give your daughter an extra hug from a mom who KNOWS how hard it is on a child along with the mom to loose a pet (lost our daughters guniea pig about three months ago). My thoughts and heart goes out to you both.
