Very sorry to hear about your loss,
I don't think anyone is accusing you of being a bad owner, you obviously did the best your could,
sometimes people getting upset at what happened, upsets them, what this was is a lack of information.
This forum is very informative, last summer my iguana came up with a twitch in her tail, and I brought my iguana to the local vet, that billed themselves (in the yellow pages) as reptile experts.
on information I gathered in this forum I knew I needed some liquid calcium. After visiting my vet, with my iguana that did twitch a while in the office, I was told that my animal was just fine.
I have had my iguana for 5 years, and she had never twitched in any way, I demanded that they give me some liquid calcium.
I don't know if it was dumb luck (i don't think so) or the calcium, but the problem that seemed to be getting worse, went away.
I don't trust everything i read here, but i investigate- it is not too hard to find some intelligent good answers on here.
I have gotten better advise on here (from the supposedly uneducated sector) than from paying $50 a visit to my local (reptile) vet (they had read a lot in books) in a surburbia area outside San Francisco.
We're all learning.....
