arthritis?

Do iguanas get arthritis? I rescued a female, Godzilla, about 5 weeks
ago, and I've noticed that her lower limbs are usually quite
swollen....At first I thought she probly had MBD, but I've seen that
the swelling varies by day, and sometimes what was greatly swollen
the day before has no swelling at all. She has great mobility - as a
matter of fact, she doesn't like to bask much, she's too busy roaming
the room. When her forearm is swollen, it is pretty hard, but it
doesn't seem to hurt her if I touch it. Does this kind of swelling
sound familiar to anyone?

Another question I have is that I've heard that as long as you
don't feed them junk, iguanas don't get overweight. Well, my biggest
ig, skunka, has broken her tail 2xs and she no longer seems to grow
in length, only in width...her belly is about 18" and she is under
4'. She's a free roamer so she gets plenty of exercise. As a matter
of fact, all of my igs seem to be rather round....maybe they are just
pleasantly plump, I'm not sure. any input is greatly appreciated.
thanks, toni (aka the iguana lady)
