What works for me (so your friend can maybe do this next time) is lower yourself down so the iguana can climb onto something higher than you, for me it is his cage shelves-- he will almost always choose the highest place because he is very greedy that way! This way he willingly gets off without you having to pry him off which can be a pain! ;-)
