You could keep offering different foods and continue to let him roam outside and notice if any foods tend to curb the strange eating habbit...then you just might have found what he was craving if that's the prob. My youngest Boxer had a very bad habbit of eating grass...the grass eating wasn't so much the problem but the fact that it doesn't digest was. Not to sound gross but I had to get grass blades from her butt (YUCK!)way too many times that wouldn't come out when she went to the bathroom...they'd kinda 1/2 come out. That's when I discovered animals will eat other things if they are missing something from their diet...I fed her green beans to get rid of the grass eating prob.:)

: hey Alisha.......I am not sure if floyd has ever been outside?~ Seems like at his age someone would have let him at some point?~ I know that Miya tries to eat dirt when i let him on the ground~ the other thing i have to keep him away from is the fireplace~ Not sure why but he always tries to eat any ashes~???~ Floyd has a great appetite and will eat anything i feed him~ I only wish he could let me know exactly what he is craving!~ As long as it was good for him i would buy it!~ Today I had got them a treat of papiya~ I had never given it to Floyd before~!BOY did he love it!
: As far as animals eating strange things because they are lacking things i have some reasons to believe that is true~ So of course its another thing for me to worry about!~:(~
: : I'm one of those people who do believe animals will eat strange things if they are lacking something in their diet but knowing what you feed your ig's I'm leaning more towards the belief that he might have been exploring. Much like babies, ig's explore w/ their mouths by tasteing and smelling things. I wonder if Floyd has ever been outside to roam before? Maybe it was all new to him and he was just curious. ;)

: : : Okay I let Floyd wander around the yard with me close behind and he passed up all the edible things and tried to eat the unedible???? First he thought the cement sidewalk was something to eat~ Of course he couldn't get a bit of that!LOL~ Than it was a big rock~??? Then a piece of wood!? Of course i didn't let him eat anything bad~ And these things were all to big to fit in his mouth anyway ~ I was wondering if anyone thinks he could be needing something in his diet and he is trying to get it~ I have heard dif theories on this and wonder what people thought~?
