THE SUN (London, UK) 27 July 01 Woman-Hating Iguana Found (Mike Jones)
A woman-hating iguana which did a runner from its owner a month ago has today finally been tracked down up a neighbour's tree.
The three-and-a-half foot scaly terror was spotted in the branches of a shady oak as the hot summer sun beat down on Benfleet, Essex.
When green iguana Louis disappeared local women were warned to steer clear in case he jumped on them in a fit of anger.
As it turned out though Essex girls weren't to Louis's taste and no attacks were reported.
Instead RSPCA officals reckoned he had probably been in the neighbouring garden all the time.
"We tried to catch him with a long stick called a grabber but we couldn’t," a spokesman said.
"We eventually managed to catch him by shaking the tree and he scampered down and fell to the ground - his fall was cushioned by leaves."
The RSPCA spokesman added that the reptile was in good condition.
"It would have found plenty to eat as this is a herbivore and lives off leaves, soft fruit and also insects."

The one advantage of being four hours to the east of your own forum's Desiree Wong, is that 'sometimes' you can sneak a press item in before she's out of bed! Good morning Des!!
