I work at a pet store, some of you might know this from other forums, and a lady brought in a young boy that had an iggy. I think it was her nephew, looked about 12 years old. Any way, for over all looks of the iggy he seemed pretty healthy. I asked them a few questions and there were definitely some things they were doing wrong- didn't have any vitamin and calcium supplements, no uv uvb light, not a big enough enclosure, could have been a little more hydrated, .... just little things that I fixed them up with. They had the iggy with them and asked if he had blisters on his back. All of the spikes were completely gone except for little stubby things, seemed like they were trying to grow back. It had black blotches all over that seemed like they were also trying to heal up. I told him and her that it didn't seem like blisters or burns because there were also black streaks along its sides like something clawed it. I told them that I honestly had no clue and that they should go to the vet asap to get some antibiotics....etc. Do any of you have a clue to what it was??? I never saw anything like it.
Brittany
