i think if you're gonna get a 2nd ig, that's really what you have to plan on ~ 2 seperate set-ups + in the not-so-distant future ...

*personally* ~ i can't picture having more than one ig, tho i know ALOT of people here *do* have multiples ... well, lemme tell you about iZ + maybe that'll explain why i i wanna warn you to not rush into a 2nd ig ... :)

last summer, i took in a little 6"svl foster ig (co-worker's gf was TERRFIED of it!!!) ... i really didn't think an iglet in an enclosure in one room would bother iZ who was 20"svl and has his own room *plus* free-roaming time everyday ... oh was i *Wrong*!!!

iZ, my spoiled rotten baby-dragon, is EXTREMELY possessive of *me* and it just made him insane cuz he KNEW that little stranger was in HIS HOUSE, talking to HIS woman ... at 1st i hoped that he was just reacting in "typical ig fashion" to ANY change + that he'd gradually adjust ...

but it kept getting worse + worse until i was concerned for *iZ's* health ... he stopped eating, he threw terrible temper tantrums in his room during the day and then thru even WORSE tantrums at ME when i'd get home from work ... (and then i got concerned for *my* health! :) ) ...

to say he "got aggressive" DOESN'T explain it ~ i don't think it was aggression that he felt ... he'd charge at me, leap at me, etc, etc, but it was VERY obvious that he was trying to "claim me" as HIS ~ much like a toddler throwing a tantrum to get his mommy to pick him up ... it was VERY obvious that he was just MISERABLY SAD + the only way he knew to express that was to pout + throw fits + try to be the ONLY living being that got near me ... when he wasn't trying to fly into my arms/face, he'd just LAY there ... (swear i could hear him just sighing loudly + sniffling ...) ...

within 48 hours of finding the iglet a new home, iZ was TOTALLY back to his old self ~ happy, calm, snuggling *without* teeth/claws being involved ... it was like flipping a switch, the change in him was THAT drastic, fast + complete ...

there's more jealous-iZ stories ~ i've always got a TON of stories ~ he hates baby humons ~ toddlers are ok, but i had an infant g-daughter last summer and i've got ANOTHER one this summer (iZ doesn't know that yet!) ... he's not jealous of the g-daughters once they're about 6-9mo, but crying infants, even on TV, send him flying at me ... like he can't stand that THEY get to sit in my arms ~ toddlers spend more time running AWAY FROM the grown-ups, so they're ok ... LOL

he had another jealous pout/hunger strike when i puppy-sat my son's dog for the wkend ... he gets sent to his room when he's throwing fits ~ for EVERYONE'S safety ~ he threw himself around his room, slammed his face into the wall and gave himself a black eye ...

*heavy sigh*

i know this is long ... i don't know any other way to 'splain why i'm trying to caution you to think extremely hard about getting another ig ...

now, it *might* be totally different since your 1st ig is younger and maybe is not quite as bonded with you (yet) as iZ is with me ... and maybe iZ is just a bit extreme with his jealous devotion ... *grin*

and SOME igs get along quite nicely with each other and there's very little "sibling rivalry" ... (or is it "igling rivalry"?)

but you aren't going to know "for sure" until you get that 2nd ig ~ + what if it *Doesn't* work???
i was *extremely* lucky that i was able to find a good home for my little foster iglet so quickly ~ and that was only cuz he WAS a *little* guy ...

ok ~ even if the 2 get along ok, there is still the probability that the larger of the 2 is going to dominate the other, irregardless of what sex they are ...

i really don't think that igs sit there + wish there was another ig for them to talk to ... they're not "lonely" (know what i mean?) ...

so when i ask if you've got room for *2* 6' igs who hate each other ~ THAT'S what was all going thru my scrambled mind ... :)

*whew* ...
i need more caffiene ...
