I for some reason cannot stop thinking about the picture of your iguana. The first time I saw it I automatically saw the signs of MBD. The short jaw on your iguana, the turned in leg, are you sure this is just a small calcium deficency?
Your iguana photo below:
It shows the front hand/leg turning at a sharp angle and the iguanas jaw has the shirt shrunken look of MBD iguanas. Now below is a picture of a severe case of MBD in an iguana that has a page here:http://www.nfds.net/~bmyers/dino.html by Bill Mears.
(everyone please copy and paste the above pictures URL and look at it)
Your iguana and this iguana with severe MBD look very much alike in symptoms aside from the broken back bone....and this iguana has SEVERE MBD....
I hope you don't take this as an insult or flame...maybe I also don't have the whole story, I just couldn't help thinking about the way your cute iguana looked and the vet saying its a little calcium deficency, it looks like a BIG one to me. Have you ever thought about a second opinion? I just couldn't help but ask...hope you are not offended.....
Anyone else have comments? Does it just look that way? I am sure I am wrong. I just couldn't help thinking about it.
