Nasty and evil are human characteristics, not animal, so I would agree that these labels are not appropriate for iguanas, other than to describe seasonal behavior. However, you better believe that agressive is right on the money. Breeding season brings on a hormone rush that clouds everything other than territory and breeding. Some igs handle it pretty well, others turn into monsters. I happen to have one that fits the monster mold to a degree. If you think that no igs are agressive and dangerous all the time, then you aren't familiar with Harry, owned by HD and Sue2 on this board. Harry has to be handled with welding gloves, and is agreeive and will bite 24/7.
All in all, temperament does vary greatly in these animals, and the luck of the draw seems to determine who gets a gentle ig, and who doesn't...
