on thier age, and how well nourished they are. Igs under a year old may seem to be shedding constantly. In reality, they shed in patches, so it just seems constant. They may shed 6 or more times a year. Older, mature igs may shed only once a year, and some parts may shed more often than others. Bug (our ig) sheds his belly about once a year, but about three times a year on the rest... He's three and 1/2. I've included a pic of Bug in "high alert" mode...
