Yup, I was bitten in the face by my last dog - a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel we'd had for 9 years. Had to have 17 stitches in my nose. Then my dad shot the dog and I've not had once since (about 8/9 years ago).

But, if I ever got another dog, I'd still get the same breed. I figure any breed of dog could turn at any time, and King Charlies are so damn cute :)
