Friend's iguana, Rishi(see him @ www.myiguana.com) somehow wedged himself behind the toilet one day. Bruised a thigh pretty severely. I'm not sure if it discolored or not but what happened later is definitely scary.
No one is sure if the bruising incident and what followed is related or not but a few weeks after the bruising, Rishi's eye swelled shut. Then things got worse - much worse. The infection spread to other parts of his body. As a result, Rishi was seen, studied, poked, prodded, and cut by some of the best in the country by some of the best in the country - and to this day, they STILL do not know exactly what caused this. The nearest they have been able to get is that it is some form of bacterial infection that went completely and totally systemic. I think I remember hearing something about a golf ball sized mass being removed at one point.

Can igs bruise? Most definitely. Can it turn into something much worse? At the moment I do not personally know - but it certainly appears that it can.
