Back when I had my Malachai - (after he was around 5 ft) I used to walk him on his harness down to the beach. I never took him around where there were tons of people (he wasn't a very social iguana) but we would go to the private beach end or to the park together all the time. (2-3 times a week at least)...Now, with Azurai, (the one who lost her eye before I got her) she was smaller and more timid - I never took her out of the yard and only took her out that far when it was just me and her. Now Iggy hasn't been in public at all - and I probably won't subject him to that when he is bigger. His personality does not seem right for crowds and people and he HATES the harness.

I think it is really up to your animal and you. I think it is dangerous and foolish to bring any lizard or snake out unrestrained - but a walk on a safety harness (if the animal likes it) can be lots of fun.

: How many people take there Iguana's out in public? If so how often?~ I have seen some people with iguana's in public but more so with bearded dragons~ Maybe because the weather here is usually warm?~ Wondering how common it is? I personally have taken only one of mine out and just the one time~ Thanks~
